The Army Alliance Annual Dinner will be held June 3, 2019, from 5:30 to 8:30PM at Water's Edge Events Center, 4687 Millennium Drive, Belcamp, MD, 21017. We are pleased to announce that our speaker will be Maryland's LT Governor Boyd K. Rutherford. This event is sure to be a sellout! All attendees must register in advance, no walk-ins at the event. The APG Discovery Week Advanced Planning Briefing for Industry (APBI) will be held April 30, to May 2, 2019. The APBI will describe potential future contracting opportunities for mission areas that focus on: command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; research and development; test and evaluation; chemical and biological defense; and APG Garrison. The C5ISR Hall of Fame Dinner will be held on April 30 and an Induction Ceremony will be held on May 1. This year's class includes two former commanding generals, a deputy to the commanding general, a chief counsel, and a director of one of CECOM's subordinate commands. Maryland PTAC HUBZone Connections will be held May 2, 2019 from 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center, 7801 Alumni Dr., College Park, MD 20742. The CCDC Chemical Biological Center is hosting its Gas Mask Dash on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at CAPA Field, Edgewood Area of APG. This 5K race/ 2-mile fun walk is open to the public. Sign up online by April 30, 2019 to be guaranteed a shirt. Entry fees are $20 until April 30th at 6pm, and $25 thereafter (to include race day). The APG Gold Star Spouses Afternoon Tea and Living Legacy Forest memorial unveiling will be held on Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m. at Top of the Bay at APG.
Major General Mitchell Kilgo, the Incoming APG Senior Commander and CECOM Commanding General, will be our guest speaker at this event. Please consider attending and let our Gold Star families know how much this community supports them and honors their sacrifice. Through personal donations and corporate contributions none of the Gold Star families pay for their meals. With around 80 family members at $35, it's approximately $2,800 that is needed. AFCEA Aberdeen will hold its annual Scholarship Awards Dinner on May 21, 2019, from 1800 to 2030 at Waters Edge Event Center. Join them as they honor local students and educators who excel in the field of Science, Technology, Education, and Mathematics (STEM) in Harford and Cecil County Public Schools. The Freestate Golf Outing will be held on May 23, 2019 at APG Ruggles Golf Course with a shotgun start at 9AM. The goal for this event is to raise enough funds to design and build a state-of-the-art computer laboratory for Freestate Cadets. The Freestate Academy is a tuition-free program which offers at-risk adolescents (16 to 18 years old) an opportunity to change their future, for the better by providing the skills, education and self-discipline needed to become responsible, productive citizens. At 10:00 AM, Federal Contracting 101 will be held and at 2:00 PM, Negotiation Strategies & Closing Techniques will be held. This series of FREE classes covers a broad range of topics designed to help small, minority, women, and veteran business owners improve managerial efficiency and gain an insightful understanding of the government contracting arena. The 2nd Annual Young AFCEAN Bowling Bash has been moved to June 11, due to ongoing construction at Brewner Lanes. Come join us now on Tuesday, June 11, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the APG Bowling Center. Sign up today for AFCEA Aberdeen’s Annual Golf Tournament, a highly anticipated annual fundraiser, at Ruggles Golf Course, just outside APG’s 715 gate, on June 26, 2019. The event includes a four-person scramble, BBQ lunch, and awards reception. Check in and tee assignments begin at 0800 with a shotgun start at 0900. All proceeds from this event will benefit AFCEA Aberdeen’s Education Program, which has provided more than $400,000 in STEM grants and scholarships to the local education community since 2011.
