The AFCEA Aberdeen Government Forum (originally scheduled for December 3, 2018) has been rescheduled as a luncheon on January 31, 2019, 1130 to 1330, at Water’s Edge Event Center in Belcamp, MD.  Please join MG Dave Bassett, PEO C3T, and MG Pete Gallagher, Director, Network CFT, for a review of 2018 and an outline of key focus areas for 2019.  This event will provide an opportunity for the AFCEA community, along with PEO C3T, Network CFT, and industry partners, to network and set a positive tone of collaboration throughout the year.  To register for this event, please click here!  

Young AFCEA Aberdeen’s Mentor Protégé and Networking Night has been rescheduled for Thursday, February 7, 2019, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM, at Top of the Bay, APG, MD. This highly anticipated event provides an open forum for Military, Civilian, and Industry leadership to share career insights with aspiring young professionals.  The intimate atmosphere offered by our unique “Speed Mentoring” session gives attendees the chance to seek personalized advice and foster future Mentor-Mentee relationships.  This event is rounded out by a Senior Leadership Q&A Panel Discussion and an opportunity to network.  For more information or to register for this event, please click here!

The Army Contracting Command- Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC- APG) Source Selection Support Center of Excellence (S3CoE) will host its FY19 2Q symposium, “Value Adjusted Total Evaluated Price (VATEP)” on February 6, 2019 at Mallette Hall Auditorium, 6008 Jayhawk Drive, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD 21005.  The purpose of the symposium is to afford Industry and Government partners an opportunity to discuss lessons learned and best practices for Value Adjusted Total Evaluated Price (VATEP) competitive best value acquisitions.  This event is open to Industry and Government and is not program specific.  To attend the symposium, send the RSVP form by January 30, 2018 to usarmy.apg.acc.mbx.acc-apg-s3coe@mail.mil

STEM MENTERS NEEDED!  The Science & Math Academy (SMA) will be hosting a Mentor Night on March 14, 2019 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the Aberdeen High School cafeteria.  On that evening, you will have the opportunity to meet with students from the Class of 2020 who have shown an interest in your field.  The evening will have the format of a college fair.  Mentors will be set up at “booths” in the cafeteria (you are not expected to bring any materials, but you may).  Note that if you are unable to attend Mentor Night you can still be a mentor.  RSVP here by February 22, 2019 or email sarah.ashley@hcps.org directly.

NMTC Visionary Awards - Building the STEM Educated Workforce or Advancing Our Technology & Innovation Base
will be held February 28, 2019.  Consider nominating a candidate for the Visionary Award, being a sponsor or attending the gala.  The NMTC Visionary Awards, celebrates our neighbors, colleagues, family, and friends for their volunteer efforts that contribute to building a STEM-educated workforce OR advancing technology & innovation.
