Nighttime Testing At Aberdeen Proving Ground May Be Heard By Neighbors.  The testing will run from Oct. 29 through Nov. 19 — but won’t take place on Saturdays, Sundays or on Veterans Day.  The operations will not be hazardous to the community.

Harford County is home to 19,000 veterans. To honor their service, the Harford County Veterans Affairs Commission is hosting a Veterans Resource Fair from 10 AM – 1PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Bel Air Armory, 37 N. Main St, Bel Air. The fair will offer resources and activities for veterans and their families including VA claims and healthcare information, employment opportunities, a live therapy dog, and free lunch from Mission BBQ.  The fair will begin with a wreath-laying ceremony attended by County Executive Barry Glassman and Major General Randy Taylor, Commanding General of CECOM and Senior Commander of APG.  Also at the fair, Eisenhauer’s Chesapeake Harley-Davidson of Darlington will give away an XG500 motorcycle. Join MG Randy Taylor and other officials from APG and Fort Meade at the Veterans Day Concert 2018!  You do not want to miss this sure-to-be-memorable event, which take place at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront on November 10, 2018 at 5:30 pm.  Enjoy a patriotic concert performance by the Maryland Conservatory of Music, heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar, and a special presentation honoring active military members and veterans. Join the Historical Society of Harford County on November 13, 2018, 12:30 to 1:30 PM for a presentation on the History of Innovation of APG, by historian Jeffery K. Smart.  Free admission!  Smart’s Brown Bag Lunch presentation, entitled, ”From Silly Puddy to Bits and Bytes,” will be held at the Historical Society at 143 N. Main Street, Bel Air, MD  21014.

Join the Maryland Department of Commerce and the Harford County Office of Community & Economic Development for an Exporting for Defense informational session and Q&A led by Suzanne Palmer from Export Compliance Solutions.  This free session will be held on November 19, 2018, 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM at 2021 Pulaski Highway, Suite D, Havre de Grace, MD.  Learn what you need to know when deciding whether to export your product or service, including an overview of export controls.  This training is specifically for Maryland defense firms interested in exporting but unsure whether it's an option for them.  This will be Part 1 of a 3-part series. The next AFCEA Aberdeen monthly luncheon will be held on Wednesday, 28 November 2018, 1130 to 1330 at Water’s Edge Event Center in Belcamp, MD. The featured speaker for this event is Mr. Alan Hansen, CTO of the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate (I2WD) at APG.  I2WD leverages in-house expertise and technologies to provide state-of-the-art systems and solutions for quick reaction capabilities necessary to address urgent, operational needs for the Army. I2WD operates Defense Department and industry-unique laboratories and testing facilities to test and evaluate developmental systems in a controlled, realistic environment. $30 for AFCEA members, $35 for non-members, $20 for Government representatives. The Northeastern Maryland Technology Council (NMTC) presents Disruptive Tech Summit 2.2, The Next Digital Revolution – Converging multiple technologies into a new, powerful force.  The summit will be held November 28, 2018, 12:30 – 4:30PM, at Towson University in NE MD, 510 Thomas Run Rd, Bel Air, MD 21015.  Topics include 5G innovation, Augmented Reality, Internet of Things, Voice Control, and Tech Transfer Opportunities.  Registration is $25 for NMTC members & US Army. $35 for public.  Light fare refreshments will be served.  To register, CLICK HERE.


The Army Contracting Command- Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC- APG) Source Selection Support Center of Excellence (S3CoE) will host its FY19 1Q symposium entitled Oral Technical Proposals Presentations (OTPPs) on December 12, 2018 at Mallette Hall Auditorium, 6008 Jayhawk Drive, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005.  The symposium will be from 9-11:00AM; doors will open at 8:15AM.  The symposium will afford Industry and Government partners an opportunity to recommend best practices for submitting and evaluating oral technical proposal presentations.  Industry is invited to participate as panel members and provide feedback on the linked APG S3CoE Industry RSVP form by November 8, 2018 (send filled inform to S3CoE email address: usarmy.apg.acc.mbx.acc-apg-s3coe@mail.mil)  RSVPs to attend the symposium are due December 5, 2018 to the same above email address, using the above linked form.
