World War I Commemorative Event , presented by the Liriodendron Foundation, Inc. will be held Saturday April 14 at 11AM at Dr. Kelly’s summer home, The Liriodendron Mansion in Bel Air .  Please join us to honor those who served in the Great War, with a special tribute to Dr. Howard Kelly’s contribution to the recovery and rehabilitation of soldiers suffering from the wounds of war in 1918.  Click HERE for more information.

Introduction to the Federal Procurement Process will be held April 17 2018 from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at the Ground Floor at 2021 D, Pulaski Highway, Havre de Grace, MD 21078.   Presented by the Maryland PTAC, this is an introductory course which covers preliminary steps that a potential contractor needs to understand and how government agencies make purchases.  Registration deadline is April 17 at 8AM, Fee is $25.  To register, click HERE.
 
Registration is now open for the APG Discovery Week Advanced Planning Briefing for Industry (APBI), taking place April 17-20, 2018.  During the event, APG tenant organizations will brief upcoming opportunities to industry to help potential partners better understand Army capability requirements and shape their internal development efforts.  Click HERE to register.

Dancing for TAPS will be held April 20, 2018, 7 - 11 PM at Dancing with Friends, 3036 Churchville Rd, Churchville, MD.  Dancing for TAPS is a dance lesson followed by a party with proceeds going directly to the TAPS families who have lost a loved one serving in the military.  Click HERE for more info, to register or sponsor this event.

“Kuffed for Kids” is back for 2018, and APG Government and Community leaders are “doing time” for local youth! We’re locking up our inmates  at Magerk’s Pub & Grille in Bel Air, on Thursday, April 26th, at 6 p.m.  Guests are invited to join us for a happy hour from 6-8PM , to help our inmates post their bail. 100% of the funds raised by our inmates will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Harford and Cecil County to send 40 kids to a week-long Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) camp administered by the Army Research Laboratory  at APG.  Magerk’s is also donating 15% of dinner sales from 6-8PM. Annual APG Workers Memorial Commemoration Friday, April 27, 2018, 2-3 pm Festival Park, Aberdeen, MD - Open to the Public In honor of Workers Memorial Day, the annual commemoration will be held in Aberdeen’s Festival Park on 27 April 2018. The memorial honors the Department of Defense Civilians, Military Service Members, and Support Contractors who lost their lives in the performance of their duties at Aberdeen Proving Ground and Edgewood Arsenal.  Learn more at www.apgdiscovery.com.

The Aberdeen Young AFCEANs are holding their next Leadership Breakfast on May 1, 20187:30am-9:00am, at Ruggles Golf Course in Aberdeen. The AFCEA Aberdeen Small Business Lunch and Learn session is rescheduled for Thursday, May 3.  This session on “Contracting and Price to Win” will provide small businesses with insight and guidance on the overall contracting process, how to properly use available resources, and how to navigate the DoD market.
