The Maryland DC District Export Council presents “Going Global for Start-ups and Small Businesses.”  Learn how to tap into a global market directly from the leaders of young and small companies that are doing it every day.  Learn about the tools, resources, and support programs available to ensure your success!  Anyone is welcome, and we are tailoring the content to young/small companies (10-50 people, more or less).   Session to be held March 19, 2018, 2:30-5:30 at City Garage, Baltimore (101 W Dickman St, Baltimore).  Register Here.

The AFCEA Small Business Lunch Session: Contracting and Price to Win will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 11:30am-1:30pm, at Waters Edge Event Center in Belcamp. You will hear from industry representatives who will provide insight and guidance on the overall contracting process and price to win strategy. This session will focus on deriving the right insight from resources and how a small business can navigate the DoD market. $25 for AFCEA members, $30 for non-members, $15 for Government representatives. Team Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) anticipates hosting the APG Discovery Week Advanced Planning Briefing to Industry (APBI) on April 17-20, 2018, at APG, MD. The goal of the APG Discovery Week APBI is to provide industry with networking opportunities for both large and small businesses.  The APBI will describe potential future contracting opportunities for mission areas that focus on: Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance; Research and Development; Test and Evaluation; Chemical and Biological Defense; APG Garrison; and US Army Corps of Engineers - Baltimore District.  The APG Discovery Week APBI will identify potential contracting opportunities that are aligned with the roadmaps of each respective organization, specifically focusing on Fiscal Years 2019-2020.  Specific registration procedures and additional information about APG Discovery Week APBI will be released via amendment to this Feb Biz announcement.  All questions related to this event should be directed to Team APG at usarmy.apg.cecom.mbx.apbi-registration@mail.mil.

Annual APG Workers Memorial Commemoration Friday, April 27, 2018, 2-3 pm Festival Park, Aberdeen, MD - Open to the Public In honor of Workers Memorial Day, the annual commemoration will be held in Aberdeen’s Festival Park on 27 April 2018. The memorial, erected and dedicated in 2017, honors the Department of Defense Civilians, Military Service Members, and Support Contractors who lost their lives in the performance of their duties at Aberdeen Proving Ground and Edgewood Arsenal. A Dedication Ceremony and unveiling of the newest Gold Star Families Memorial Monument (GSFMM) will be held Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Concord Point Lighthouse & Park , 700 Concord Street, Havre de Grace , MD 21078.  WWII Medal of Honor recipient Hershel Woody Williams will be on deck and looks forward to meeting the citizens of Harford County.  This event is FREE, and the public is invited to attend both the ceremony and the reception to follow.  Families welcomed.  Please RSVP here, so that the event planners will have a headcount.
