The Chesapeake Science & Security Corridor (CSSC) is one of five communities across the country named to the 2018 class of Great American Defense Communities, the Association of Defense Communities (ADC) announced with USAA, the initiative’s official sponsor. The Department of Defense issues three Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and three Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Broad Agency Announcements (BAA) for proposals annually.  Each BAA has a pre-release, open, and close.  During the pre-release period the government is not accepting proposals, but small businesses can discuss technical questions directly with the topic authors (contact information available in each topic).  Once the BAA is open, direct questions with the topic authors are no longer allowed, but technical questions may be submitted anonymously through the SBIR Interactive Topic Information System (SITIS)  Here is a LINK to the BAA announcements for SBIR and STTR that were pre-released on November 28, 2017 and will open on January 8, 2018.


APG Holiday Tour of Homes, Monday, December 11, 2017 from 5-7pm (note that last tour begins at 6pm).  The Tour begins from Corvias Community Office at 6283 Demby Drive, APG.  Hosted by the APG Community Spouses Club, tour five historic Aberdeen Proving Ground homes, including Quarters 1. The MG Harry Greene Aberdeen AUSA Chapter monthly professional development luncheon, will be held at the Top of The Bay (30 Plumb Point Loop, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland 21005-5001) on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 1130AM.  The speaker will be Lieutenant General (LTG) John Murray (HQDA, Deputy Chief of Staff G-8).  Cost to attend is $20.00 if you register on line or $25.00 at the door.  Seating is limited to availability, please register and pay at this link

Maj. Gen. David G. Bassett has been announced as the new Program Executive Officer, Command, Control and Communication (Tactical).  He replaces outgoing PEO C3T Gary Martin, who retires Jan. 31 after more than 30 years working for the Army.  A change of command ceremony will take place January 30, 2018.
