The Maryland Department of Commerce and Cecil County and Harford County are launching the Maryland Defense Technology Commercialization Center (Maryland DefTech).  Maryland DefTech will help highlight the Army's technological innovations available for commercialization and support defense contractors develop new lines of business in the tech industry.  A Program Manager will be hired to: 1) Engage relevant communities in the region in activities that draw attention to commercialization opportunities; 2) Educate the region about best practices in commercialization, entrepreneurship, and the commercial industry; 3) Connect the region's entrepreneurial and innovation initiatives and technology transfer activities to enhance commercialization activities in the region; and 4) Highlight commercialization of Army and overall DoD intellectual property as a key tenet of innovation and entrepreneurship in Northeastern Maryland and beyond. .  Click Here to See RFP

The Maryland-DC District Export Council is hosting an event on “Due Diligence/Compliance with Foreign Partners” on October 3, 2017 from 8:00-9:30AM in Baltimore.  Participants will walk away with a checklist of concrete steps to follow to screen every partner for compliance and a list of warning signs of potential compliance issues with a foreign partner.  Additionally, you will gain an understanding of how to conduct free business partner pre-screening online. The Association of Old Crows (AOC) and APG Susquehanna Chapter of the AOC, under a co-sponsorship agreement with the Army, will hold its 3rd Annual Cyber Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA) Conference on October 16-19, 2017 at APG, MD.  Sessions will be held at the unclassified and classified levels up to TS/SCI releasable to Five Eyes.  Expansion of the CEMA conference to other interest partner Nations is currently being considered.  Register HereCaveat: Approval paperwork to conduct the conference is in process with a final decision by the Department of the Army expected no later than September 2017.  All indications are that this conference is in compliance so we expect but cannot guarantee this conference will be approved.
