ARMY ALLIANCE ANNUAL LUNCHEON MEETING:
Join us on March 15, 2023, 11:30AM- 1:30PM at Water’s Edge Events Center, Belcamp. Our featured speaker is Brigadier General Adam R. Flasch, Director, Joint Staff - (MD), Joint Force Headquarters, Baltimore, MD. He will address National Guard activities on APG and at the Havre de Grace Barracks as well as state-wide efforts. Also, we will rrecognize our 2023 Defense Community Champion, Curtis Beulah, Chairperson of the Alfred B. Hilton Foundation; receive an update of the Army Alliance focused initiatives for 2024; and hear about the progress of the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge (and receive a tour after the luncheon). Northeastern Maryland Technology Council (NMTC) 12th annual Visionary Awards Gala honors 17 individuals on Feb 23 at Water's Edge Events Center, Belcamp, MD. Register and sponsor at nmtc.org. A select group of Marylanders will receive the prestigious Visionary Award for their contributions to building our STEM-educated workforce and advancing technology and innovation to grow our economy and protect national security. The 12th Visionary Honoree is Bruce England, Susquehanna Workforce Network, who will receive the award from his predecessor, Larry Muzzelo, recently retired from US Army CECOM, and last year's Visionary Honoree. Mentors wanted for the 2024 School Year! The Science and Mathematics Academy (SMA) at Aberdeen High School is planning capstone projects for the Class of 2024, and they are seeking mentors. The project does not necessarily need to be related to your job; it could pertain to a personal area of interest. Registration open! Honor the Surviving Family Members of our Fallen Service Members with APG’s 4th annual Monument to Monument Virtual 5K Run/Walk. The Virtual 5K Run/Walk will take place from March 31st through April 2nd. You must run your 5K (3.1 miles) race during this time period to be listed in the official results and be eligible for overall awards.
