The Breakfast meeting will be held November 18, 8 to 10AM at the Richlin Ballroom. Our panel of speakers will address, “Developing a STEM Workforce for APG’s Future.” Learn about the challenges, opportunities, and efforts to develop a STEM-ready workforce in Northeastern Maryland to support APG’s mission. SUBMISSIONS SOUGHT FOR HARFORD COUNTY VETERANS PHOTO GALLERY OF HONOR
Harford County’s award-winning Photo Gallery of Honor is back this November to recognize veterans for their military service. The photo gallery will include veterans, living or deceased, and will be published every day during the month of Veterans Day on the Facebook page for the Harford County James V. “Capt’n Jim” McMahan Commission on Veterans Affairs and on the county website. Local veterans, and family members who wish to honor them, are invited to participate by submitting a photo, preferably in uniform, and information about their service. Submission forms and instructions are posted on the county website.
On October 27, 4PM., Women in Defense (WID) Mid-Atlantic will host a lively virtual discussion on making the jump from employee to manager. This is an exciting time in a career but sometimes it happens quickly with no training or preparation. Join a frank discussion with special guests Kristin Schaefer-Lay and Asha Hall, APG senior leaders who have recently navigated this change. Find out how they renegotiated their relationships with their coworkers, balanced the demands of DOING the work versus MANAGING the work, and what they wish they’d done differently. Register HERE.

NEW: The Harford County Veterans Resource Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m on Saturday, November 13 at the Bel Air Armory, 37 N. Main Street. The theme of this year’s fair is “Veterans Mental Health, From Awareness to Action.” The fair includes giveaways, discounts & BBQ lunch! Harford County veterans, all military, and their families are welcome to this one-stop event for information about veterans’ healthcare and benefits, printed guides to resources and local businesses that offer veteran discounts and more.
